jfanselow Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Hey. Ive got a 1994 corolla wagon and I need to put a new engine in it as the 4a-fe is dead. Am looking at either a 4a-ge or 4a-gze. Was wondering how much is involved in this conversion? What sort of performance I can expect from each option when I'm done? And what any major difficulties may be? as I'm on a relatively small budget but can do most of the mechanical work myself. Thanks Quote

Des Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 (edited) Is yours a 4wd wagon or just fwd ? and if it helps hit the search button. :y: Edited December 1, 2006 by too quick Quote
towe001 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 I'm laying dibs that its an awd And like what too quick said - search But, yeah, if it is the awd from memory the gearbox is a little weaker then the fwd 'box Helpful info You could always take a different route and slide in a 7a-fe motor Quote
ChrisGT Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 (edited) PM kebin on these fourms....we just finished putting a 4agze into a 4WD wagon....alot of work! but he has photos of everything so he should be able to help you out. if u are going a ze with supercharger, the supercharger sits where the dif lock is located so u need to get rid of it and make up a custom one.
