SoulSearcher Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 Heya, Well I lent my old car to a friend for a little while (2 weeks this time and about 6 weeks the other time) and both times I got the car back there have been dent's and or scratches etc., etc., I didn't have an understanding with my friend ie. "if you damage the car you will have to pay for the repairs" and this time when I got it back there was some damage to the rear bumper, a dent in the rear 1/4 panel and a scratch in the front left. :) I want to sell the car, but I don't want to sell it in its current state (its a 97 Nissan Bluebird). Anyhoo, it's white and I wondered if anyone could direct me to a reputable person who could fix up the car for, lets say under 500 bucks (ish) and do a good job?? I don't want to do ANY of the prep work I just want to give it to them and get it back looking good. I'm in the Adelaide Hills but I'm happy to travel and they can have the car for as long as they want. Lesley :( PS: I recall asking something like this previously, but I couldn't find the thread.... sorry Quote
raceflorolla Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 One comes to mind...think he's called Brian Clifford Body Repairs or something like that. Down near panorama. He did a great job on my car, and was well priced... Quote
Raven Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 I also have my paint and panel guy who did my repairs on my car. (Check my project thread Lesley). Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 If the person you leant the car to has a decent bone in their body, they will pay for the repairs...they did the damage, so they can fix it Quote
SoulSearcher Posted December 4, 2006 Author Report Posted December 4, 2006 hmmm I agree however I don't think that's going to happen. but wait there's more... my alarm doesn't beep and flash the indicators like it used to, when I'm driving my red light from my alarm keeps flashing (weird in the night time). the fuse for my stereo was pulled out and the clock and the stereo weren't working (but putting the fuse back in - which was in the centre console -) it worked He returned it to me empty (when he took it, it was full) Oh, and I asked him to leave the magnets which advertise our new business on the car, he said fine - and then took them off!! So I'm wondering if I should send a note to him asking "what happened to my car?" Am I over-reacting?! I'm just feeling really, really well USED! :) Quote
Raven Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 I'd ask Lesley and then tell him he can borrow someone else's car from now on because he has no respect for your property. its' pretty rude. If i lent my car to someone, i would expect them to at least replace the fuel that they used and to leave the car in the same condition it was given to them AND if any damage was done that they SHOULD fix it. Mates don't f@$k up their friends cars. Its a priviledge that you lent it to him, not because you owe him a favour. Quote
Dan Posted December 4, 2006 Report Posted December 4, 2006 I've found when you lend mates cars, they either end up bogged, broken or with more rubber insulation in the rear wheel arches :) Tell the bloke that had it, hes gunna fix it. Whether he likes it or not.. With your alarm, try disconnecting the battery for half an hour and reconnecting it, it works in e-series falc's. ECU needs to relearn or some shit... The damage and scratch will be a costly exercise to get removed, and a paintless dent bloke will be able to remove the dent for around 100-200 bucks. Quote
SoulSearcher Posted December 5, 2006 Author Report Posted December 5, 2006 thank you :) The bumper's paint is cracked so the paintless dent block probably wonb't be able to do it.... Lesley Quote
