Boost1n-et Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 hey guys, just wondering what a KE70 is worth, it is an Auto with Slant motor, very straight body, 13" mags, has no windscreen and no rego also how hard would a manual conversion be, thanks guys Quote
Teddy Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Auto, White, Slant front end - 1983 /1984, 13" Mags - either CSX model as factory top of the line model, (with those particualrs), or SE - as bottom of the range OR CS as middle of the range, with mags added on aftermarket. VERY clean ke70 auto, without rego or r/worthy papers CSX- $1500 to $1800, if its top of the range and clean. Some rust, few dints, bit average without rego or r/worthy papers CSX - $1200 to 1500 VERY clean ke70 auto, without rego or r/worthy papers SE or CS - $1400 to $1600, if its top of the range and clean. Some rust, few dints, bit average without rego or r/worthy papers SE or CS $700 to 1200 Colour doesnt matter about price. Some colours come with different interiours to suit. These are average prices.. eg. An absoluete minter, regestered granma spec Ke70 auto CSX can fetch upto $3000. :hmm: Quote
Boost1n-et Posted January 10, 2007 Author Report Posted January 10, 2007 thanks mate! finally someone with some decent information, this has the high cam slant motor is this correct ? also how hard to convert to a manual? Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Ask a stupid question mate........ And Hi-Cam is a lame no meaning pile of rubbish that they thought up to try and compete with real twin cams Quote
Teddy Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Hi cam is what toyota used on the ke70 to try and boost sales. Its just a normal 4kc motor (1.3l / 1290 cc). Nothing fancy, just re-conferms its a ke70, not an Ae71, as the ae71's came with 4ac's; being 1600cc. auto to man convert - if you don't have any mechanical expirence, not recomended for a first time job lol ! Took my self and a good friend, with his dad - who both knew what we were doin a good day and night to do it (a PROPER job); with most of the parts there. hahah.. that being like 6/7 hours or so. Boost1n-et Posted January 10, 2007 Author Report Posted January 10, 2007 No Worries, Thanks Alot mate Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 (edited) Hi, KE70 worth nothing..lol I got a clean good condition 5 speed KE70 for $50 with all good usable parts so. If it is an auto pff id keep looking my self. Also my KE70 was metallic blue so all my wheels stayed on..lol But for gear box change took me and took_quick to change the motor from my KE70 and the gearbox out of it into my KE30 in about 3hrs all that wasn't on was the rear mount as I had to go to work if I didn't it would of been turn key start in about 3hr 10min so if u know what your doing with a mate piss easy job. If not steer clear read around here a bit and then try as yes conversion is piss easy. As I also just must add I got a clean KE30 also given to me had rust cut out of it clean interior really looked after with rego and a tank of fuel so look hard corollas are a cheap car so just look. Rolla__Boy Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 He is asking how hard an auto to manual conversion is. I can change a Corolla manual to another manual on my own in an hour and a bit on a good day. Auto to manual is a full days work Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I know he was asking auto to manual but hey jsut though id add i did motor to so.... And yes auto to manual you will need to remove pedal box the lot so if I was him keep looking for manual KE70 now just to save time ona change and let the auto for some one who needs a daily get around town car..lol Cameron Quote
Teddy Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Manual to manual - yeah, just over 1 hour and u can have one in an d out easily. Rally team i am in, with 6? 7 people did it in 12 minutes. With a clutch. :hmm: Auto to manual convo; in a ke70. Lets just say its a bit painfull hahah. Remove dash back to firewall, leaving heater core / air blower / etc in. Remove pedal box, replace pedal box, bore hole in firewall for clutch cable, tac weld on bell cup on firewall for clutch adjustment. Stick clutch cable through. Re-enstall dash. Remove autobox, tailshaft, mount, torque convertor, felx plate, wiring, speedo drive. Install flywheel, clutch, geatbox, mount, tailshaft, clutch cable, wiring. Remove old auto surround plastic inside, Install new plastic surround for manual box. As for wiring.. hahah.. have fun; if the cars not in Park, it wont start. Even tho the assembly isnt there any more.. :) - hahaha its just a task that takes for ever hey.. ive done like 10 dashes in ke70s now, and have got it down to about 1.5 to 2? hours from start to everything out, on the ground, ordered, back to the wirewall. Mounts, Wiring, heater.. everything. Bare. Try doing this twice in one day, with everything else for the convo as well. ! Quote
