pinpinade Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Hi ! i will start soon the upgrading of my brakes, but i need to know the following : when upgrading the brake lines on my ke20 to ke55 lines how much of the rubber line do i use, as there is two sections ? Can i use some previous Ke20 sections or not ? I ask you, because i cannot check as i have not the parts yet. thank you very much :D Quote
teza40 Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 hi..i have just supplied a rolla club member here in queensland australia, with a disc brake set up from a 1979 ke 55 sedan.rotors, calipers and the hoses both sections. he is doing a brake up grade on a ke15 and intends (from what i have spoke to him about) too use the hoses from the ke55 in original lengths tho get new ones made up for the conversion,no good having badly perished or splitting brake hoses. i guess as long as the excess line if any does not fowl on anything, from lock to lock or suspension travel you should be ok cheers teza40 Quote

pixelated_goat Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Keep us posted on how you go with this upgrade, I'm most likely doing the same thing very soon - where did you find your information for the upgrade? Cheers, Shane. Quote
anastasios Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) http://superjamie.net/oldcorollas/brakes/frontdiscs.html it seems pretty simple for a good upgrade for a ke20 runnng a 4k Edited March 13, 2007 by anastasios Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Its all in the FAQ... Ive done this upgrade on my ke20 and you just use the ke55 caliper to body hose. The connections are the same size between ke55, ke70 and ke20 AFAIK Quote
Jono Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 my ke55 discs came with girlock calipers, and i just used all standard ke20 hose. Quote
