Ok. my brother bought a 3K-B twin carby manifold off of these forums but it didnt come with any carbys and the linkages that came with them suck ass.

Now i have used the search function on here but i havent had any luck and I'm not having any luck finding any photo's.

Any information or pictures that you have of your setup would be greatly appreciated.

What carbys are you using?

What filters are you using and is it hard to get a stock filter assembly?

How did you do your linkages

Cheers

Hi,

twin setups use different jets in the carby and slightly different linkages so finding these might be hard. But you can use stock Asians off single carby cars also with mods.

As for the stock air breather hard to find. I had to buy 2 setups to get an air filter as it is the rare money maker part you could say.

Also there are 2 types of twin carby air filter pollution control pipes weld to it and a non pollution control model.

Also look in my sprinter thread here:

http://www.irokin.com/rollaclub.com/board/...showtopic=12854

I have pictures in there of twin setups and more detailed pictures are hiding in another RC thread I started. But well have to wait for the site to recover to use the search feature.

yeah there are pics of my old set up on there.

You can use standard carbies. I didn't change jets and it ran ok on a 5K. To link the carbies, I just used fuel hose attatched to the throttle shafts with hose clamps and hookes up the cable as standard to the back carby.

As for air cleaners, I used small chrome ones from repco originally for Stromberg carbys (picked up for nothing :y: ). To these, we welded the Corolla bases.

it doesnt really worrie me about the linkages becase I'm a fitter and turner so i have a few ideas to ge the them working right.

the manifold that he bought looks just like yours cameron.

Can you tell me what the fitting is for on the front of the manifold?

I should be able to run twin stock carbys of a KE3# 3k right?

ok then.

is it just the early model manifolds that have that?

I'm sure that my ke55 didnt have it?

do i have to run it or car i just block it off.

Probably going to go on a 4K or a 5K. Not quite sure yet.

Block it off. Proper twin carb heads had a water passage from the head into the manifold towards the rear of the head. Without this water wont circulate anyway.

Hi,

Yes if the mani you have is like mine then it is a small port 3K-B mani out of a late KE25 or KE35. So you also get the brake booster hose fitting on runner 4.

Mine has had the water inlet to the mani ground off. As most extractors hit this on the twin carby mani. It is usually another small hole below runner 4. can't miss it. But if you have this on the mani still the water in let DON'T GRIND IT OFF....these manis are rare as rocking horse poo now so not ruin it.

You can use 3k carbies yes. Go KE30 or KE20 ones little to no pollution gear then.

As for the outlet at runner 1 that is the water outlet back to the radiator. If you don't run water to the mani then this is no issue and doesn't need to be blocked off as no water will flow to it.

Also for air filters I have some ice chrome ram flows that I think are made to fit clamp to the top of an asian and all. I think there is a pic in my sprinter thread some where.

Cheers
