Hi all,

I am currently doing up an ae82 corolla sprinter 4 door import that was given to me. I have done all the body work myself on it so I thought I would change the motor too. The original motor was a 4ac injected and the new one is a ae92 4agze. Believe me it wasn’t that easy. I have connected the new loom to the existing rear wiring loom, to get the lights, fuel pump, and fuel gauge working. My dilemma is that the fuel pump works when the key is in the start position and while the car is running, but the pump should purge for about 3 seconds when the motor does not start. This is not happening. Also should a 4age fuel pump be sufficient to supply enough fuel for the 4agze? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In tank 4AGE pump is the same part number as GZE so I've read, so you won't have any troubles there. Most efi pumps flow alot more than the power specification of the vehicle there in.

Sorry for the late reply guys,

I have been working flat out. I am using a circuit opening relay. I have traced out the circuit and drawn it out as it lays and now i believe now that it cannot purge as i thought. I may be wrong but the only way that the pump can get a feed is either thouugh the start position on the key ignition switch, or when the air flow meter contact is closed. If anyone has done a conversion with an ae92 4agze using the stock electrical loom could they please let me know so i can put this behind me so i can move on completeing the rest of the car.

Cheers

Are you running a Circuit opening relay to control the fuel pump?

Not 100% sure about the pump size, Best check up on it though because you won't want to lean your engine out and make it go bang..
