ancullen Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 BTW, I think I might have a spare 4x100 13x5.0 rim sitting out at Humpty Doo with the yellow Rolla. I'll have to check for you. And I've got some spare 13-inch tyres, but I can't remember the condition.
Killswitch Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Here's some pics of some of the stuff I've accumulated, tacho only arrived today... second time lucky eh. Slotted rotors, woot? Some pads that came with them, they're meant to be 'performance' pads but no idea of brand, neither did the dude who I bought em off. Anyone know who puts blue backing on their brake pads? And the most trivial of things, a tachometer! But I finally have one, so now instead of just guessing how much I'm killing it... I'll know! Cool Story Hansel! :) :) :)
ancullen Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Groovy slotted rotors Danno! And I don't know about the brake pads. I'd just use them till they're stuffed and then get yourself some that you'll know the specs on. And a tacho dash! Nice score!!!
wasfishing Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 dam stupid rims r to small even my one 14 doesnt fit think thats ofset though not sure can't see might still b the brakes dam it. Ill swap u adam? :jamie:

ancullen Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 dam stupid rims r to small even my one 14 doesnt fit think thats ofset though not sure can't see might still b the brakes dam it. Ill swap u adam? :jamie: I might have to have a look at them first, but I might be keen if they suit the Starlet. I want something that sticks out further than the 15x6.0 Corolla rims I used on it recently.
ancullen Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Hrmm gues who started work @ a tyre place? rims, tyres etc :jamie: all so cheap/free if i behave myself Luke, you just became my new best friend! :jamie: Which tyre place are you at?
wasfishing Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 hmm... these r onli 6" wide aswell but hav brand new tyres
Ella Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 Toms tyres Stuart park, but please don't go hassling me for stuff at work, ill take some stuff to my shed as i get the chance and let you guys know what i have once i have it....
ancullen Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Don't worry, I'm not the sort of person to ask someone for something while they're at work. I know I'd hate it if everyone came and annoyed me at work, plus there's a chance you could end up getting into trouble for too many annoyances. Of course, once you've settled in I might have to find out what sort of deal you can do on some semi-reasonable tyres - eventually I'm going to have to go for a better dry weather compound than Eagle F1's - especially considering they seem to be a strong wet weather compound rather than dry. :jamie: Shane - if the wheels are a nice offset, I might consider swapping 4x 14x5.5's + 4x 175/70 R14 tyres for them. :jamie:
Ella Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 that sound like a good deal shane, id say the 14s will clear id say they are a higher offset (fwd style) if you want a wider track (ill assume thats why you want "more sticky out" wheels) adam what you need is negative offset Good luck finding that in a 4x100
ancullen Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Don't forget that the 14's I've got a FWD offset (standard late model Echo or Corolla I think). As for my wheels for the Starlet, I want wheels with dish, ala the black ones I got from Duy for the KE55 (see my Project page to see them). So yes, negative or zero offset is the way to go. Almost definitely would have to flare the arches, but it's look MAD on a Starlet!!!
ancullen Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 BTW, I saw Matt (imnost) in Casuarina today. Good to catch up, even though it was only very briefly. Matt, if you're reading this, it means you've sat down in front of a working computer again - it's about time!!! :jamie: And I just read through some old posts - did you still want a set of front brake calipers?
zmit Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 hey luke... does that mean i can have my wheels back? i may need them :jamie: u said u don't need the rolla, so I'm selling it off. lemme know if u find a set of 16's :jamie: 4x100
ancullen Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 The only way you'd get wheels that big would be alloys. Not that that should be an issue.
