In regards to Rhys, I saw him last night, and he's going through an EXTREMELY rough time too. He's just lost his job and his father is in a coma after attempting suicide.

Damn that sucks,

A mate and I dedicated Saturday arvo to replacing the rear trailing arm bushes(wasn't a problem), myself and a mate then went to replace the front shocks/springs. Oh boy, the parts we ordered were correct(AE82 Twincam(I was told by the previous owner that they were twincam bits)) It turns out the springs in the front are from a Nissan Pintara and they are the rear springs lol. The shocks that were in the front no longer exist(part number superceded). The strut tops were "modified" to fit the afore mentioned springs/shocks. So yeah, all I need is to get the strut tops from pedders for the twincam kyb shocks/king springs.

Apart from that replacing the trailing arm bushes with nolathone items did actually make a noticeable difference :)

Saw Rhys last night. His dad is awake, and will be receiving counselling in hospital where he can be looked after appropriately. With any luck Rhys won't be selling the Celica either - I'd love to see him finish it.

Also, the Starlet was broken into on the weekend. Nothing was stolen, but the driver's side rear window was broken and pulled out. The tinting made it all stay mostly in one piece, so there's only a few loose bits of glass in the car. Rhys mentioned that there's a Starlet for sale at Coolalinga for $300, so I'll find out about that and hopefully it'll be a three door. Alley and I could buy that and pick up a spare engine (and various other bits) for our Starlet in the process. And since if we make an insurance claim we'd have to pay $300 anyway, it's not like we're losing out or anything.

And it'll make a difference when they disintigrate too. Nolathane bushes don't last long up here apparently. And I've spoken to two suspension specialists about them and both said the same thing.

How'd you almost kill yourself???

As for breaking door handles - never buy a Starlet. Alley broke her passenger side one ages ago, and I went to the wrecker to grab one, but they all either had broken handles or they were missing entirely! Obviously it's a regular issue. :)

Andrew IS buying the AE71. It will be delivered on Saturday afternoon sometime. Of course, I need to put the strut back on first, but that's not too much of an issue.

Man my weekend is going to be busy. On Saturday I'll be going to see a home loan consultant, then I'll have scrutineering for racing, and I've got to drop the AE71 at Andrew's. And I think I promised Shane I'd give him a hand tightening his handbrake. Then on Sunday I've got racing at Hidden Valley (I hope a few of you do too) and then dinner at Mum's. FARK!!!
