ancullen Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 I know there's quite a few doing over 200fwkw. I also know of Bazda's car - his is the 550hp car I was referring to. The most he's got shown on a dyno reading is 314kW at the wheels. That translates to about 550hp at the engine. How do I work this out? 1kW = 1.341hp. As a rough guide, I calculate hp at the wheels as being equal to kW at the engine. Then multiply by 1.341 again to get engine hp. 314kW @ wheels = 421.07hp @ wheels = 421.07kW @ engine = 564.65hp @ engine Regardless, it's one hell of a mean 7A-GTE! The problem with pushing an engine this far and running that much boost and having such a large turbo is: LAG!!! It'd be fine for Bazda as he's using it for drag racing, but if you want to ever drive the car on the road you'd probably only want to aim for about 350hp at the engine, or about 200kW at the wheels. Beyond that there'd be WAY too much lag. Even 200fwkw would be pushing it, but it could probably be done on a large T28.
