hi there,i have a rebuilt 5k motor with a 3k fuel pump.now the car runs really well,doesnt miss,on the flat it doesnt starve for fuel,if anything its good on petrol until i go up acertain hill.it nearly cuts out.i have rang a carby rep and he says to look at the fuel pump.my question is,is a 3k fuel pump different to a 5k fuel pump?also the carby is from a 3k[the carby rep says the carby is big enough].any suggestions thanks

On my 5K I run a 3K fuel pump with no issues so if it is the pump maybe it is broken?

 

Or also try fuel lines of tank pick up?

thanks for that.the fuel pump is new,but i will try the fuel lines..

If your going up a hill then its most likely a pickup issue than the pump! Does it do it with a full tank of petrol?

yeh thanks for your reply,but yeh it does it anytime,i try and not have less than half a tank at any time.
