New Exhaust!

Featured Replies

Changing exhaust affects mixtures.

Yep, fitting a more efficient exhaust system can cause the fuel mixtures to be leaner. Usually increasing the carb jet sizes slightly will fix the problem.

A 2 inch system is way to big for a standard 4k. Would be better suited to a fairly heavily worked 5k.

One thing I have found with sports systems... For a given exhaust, as you go to larger capacity motors with more mods, the exhaust volume decreases, but gets deeper.

i had a 4k with a 2inch with a muffler and a ressy. it made more power and rev'd better running it straight outta the extractors than throght the pipe, and know it wasnt blocked, but i was running a dato 200b carby on it. wich bolt straight up.

as for the corner troubles, i would say its more a fuel issue. because if it was the zorst it would do the same in a straight line.

start with cheacking your fuel fillter, then the operation of the accelerator jet making shore it is spraying fuel into the carby, then set/cheack you float levels

also one of my bros mates has a datto 1200, it had a 2'' zorst on it, then went to 2 1/2 and it made so much more power, even got it dyno'd but i can't remeber what it made? and its was still a 1.2litre, but it did have cam, head and carby work

well it has to be fuel float!

because i installed a electric fuel pump and it made no difference!

so i guess i'll have to rebuild my carby and see if that fixes the problemo

i would also sugest gettin ur zorst fixed straight thru is no good.

i don't even run straight thru on the drag car(s) that me and my bro have

(he runs a 1980 xd falcon with a worked 351ci with ic&e dizzy yella terra heads 4 barrel holly carb and some crazy ass cam)

and i run the ke70 WOOOOO STOCK POWER
