ok guys ill get some pics up soon, but my uncle gave me a 1980 4 door ke 55 for chirstmas it is faded red (custom lol) has it's fair share of cancer and dents (nothing irrepareble but) everything is stock as at the moment..

 

i was just up for some ideas, i have a spare FWD smallport 4age that i was gonna put in it, and i just want some recommendations for waht dif i should use, and waht brakes i should use both front and rear, keep in mind this is not going to be worked jus thte stock 4age in there... so waht should i use??

 

i was gonna flipp the rear leaf springs, but what drum brakes can i use that will be efficent???or what else can i do for the rear??

 

front i don't really know what i can use for struts aparts formt eh rona/hilux/pug conversion but that seemed a little overkill for hwat i intend it for....

UPDATE:

 

Ripped off all the badges and shizz today because it finally arrived lol....gonna start taking all the interior apart, and get hte old 3K running again, then gonna start sanding the whole thing back and get it shaved and ready for paint..

for sanding this thing back what grade paper should i start at... it will be sprayed again in red...

For front brakes you could look into RA40 struts or even RA60 as I think their ventilated. For the rears you could keep what you have already, but there might be a better upgrade. Although if you change to a T-18 or TA-22 diff I am pretty sure you would get better brakes. Only thing is your might need to weld on leaf spring mounts. However this would make things easier for a tailshaft to gearbox as the T-series also used the T50, just a different gearbox bell housing.

 

Also look into upgrading shock absorbers and bushes. Your rims would need upgrading to 14" aswell if you get bigger brakes :D

Hey, good lookin car better off than mine was for sure!

i work at a painting factory.

i would suggest getting your self a variety of sanding blocks from large to small.

Start off with 320grit sandpaper. wet rub.

the large block will show up most of your dents and ripples..

then prime the whole car lay it on nice and thick. use a high biuld primer.

then lay on a guide coat usually black.

then re block the whole car with 600 grit sandpaper fill in any last dents and ripples.(if you missed any)

then lightly rub the car back by hand with a 1200 grit sponge and lots of water.

the primer after this should look glossy.

then paint!

Looks in pretty good nic for its age.

 

I picked one up today for $100 and its got a bit of rust. Nothing that I can't fix though.
