yea i have a ae82 lift back, i took it 4 a road worthy and 1 of the parts that failed was an oil leak in the dizzy so i took it off 2 have a look and when i put it back on it just kept backfiring till the pressure was so bad it ripped my muffler open :D, I'm not sure if the dizzy is out of time with the valves or something... any suggestions

thx Ian

will it run?

also you did put the distributor in the right way? because the crank turns on a 2-1 ratio the distributor can easily be set 180 degrees out (i.e. firing the opposite cylinder o what it should)

Yeah, I'd be saying 180 degrees out too, take out plug #1, make sure the piston is coming up, Set it to TDC #1 and then look at your distributer setup again (Make sure you look which way the rotor spins too) set up your leads so they fire in the right order etc..

ok ill try that way and c what happens, thx guys
