4k Head On 3k Block

Featured Replies

well some of use might have heard this all to meny times befor but i havent. i want more compression out of me 3k but want the reliability of the 4k head. i keep getting told that it would fly apart but some others use theres every day an it halls with all the stock bottem end bits.

what would be betta a dished 4k or a plattop 4k piston head. i have 2 to use.

ok. in your own opinion do you think it would hold together for a while.

if anyone hase done this befor pleas let me know it would be a big help.

Why not get the 3k head shaved? Or the engine block decked?

That is one way to increase compression.

I would use flat top pistons, as I think the dished pistons dish INTO the piston. So you would be then decreasing compression..

Though if you want a supercharger or turbocharger on your engine. It would be good to have a bit of a low compression so you can force more into your chamber.
