Rola Drifter Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Hey guys any chance that someone could help us find somewhere that has 54mm or possibly just a couple of mm bigger flexible fuel filler hose. I'm located on the gold coast in labrador and have already tried today super cheap auto, repco, autobarn, global auto spares, flexible hose supplies and gibbs trucking and accessories but have had no luck. Flexible hose supplies only have 50mm and 57mm in a hose that if it has alot of pressure on it where i bend it the fractions that i need it bent it could make a bad situation worse :) Any help would be muchly appreciated Cheers tom Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Why do you need FUEL hose that big? You might have to look at silicone intercooler hoses with molded bends! Quote
Rola Drifter Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 cheers Taz_Rx but i need it for my daily. my hilux trayback as i need to relocate my fuel filler cos i've lowered the ute 3inches and lowered the tray another 2 so it makes filling up a little hard at times. I know i'm on rollaclub but it doesn't hurt to ask a question that some people might no an answer to. cheers Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Ah fair enough. was just a bit confused as even top fuel dragsters don't run anywere near 54mm hose. Just check to turbosmart website for you for silicone... http://www.turbosmartonline.com/index.php?id=40 And you're in much the same boat! Only 50mm (2") and 57mm (2.25"). Fuel cells go on ebay cheap sometime!!! :) Quote
Rola Drifter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 cheers for the help but unfortunately thats not quite gonna help us :) lol but i think its time to check ebay and hit up a few wreckers and see what they might have. Quote
silverra23 Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 cheers for the help but unfortunately thats not quite gonna help us :) lol but i think its time to check ebay and hit up a few wreckers and see what they might have. can you bend up some ally tube to suit the bend you need and then just join either end with a small piece of straight hose that is available off the shelf? Rola Drifter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 Quite possible......not a bad idea silverra23. will look into it tomorrow. I got a chance to pull apart the fuel filler neck and suss it all out just before and its going to be alright to use 50mm hose so i just need to suss out the placement and all for it. I tried to upload a couple of pics of how it is but unfortunately the files are just over the 1mb maximum size :) Quote
Rola Drifter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 haha great idea. well here's where its setup atm. Quote
Rola Drifter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 And here's where i'd like to ideally put it so it doesn't get in they way of any loads that i might be carrying. Quote
Rola Drifter Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Posted July 17, 2008 Otherwise this will be pretty much directly in line with where it is now with a slight angle into the fuel tank but i don't really like the spot where it is :) Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 17, 2008 Report Posted July 17, 2008 Just get something like this... http://mscn.com.au/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=479 ...put that in the spot you want to put it, and go somewhere like an exhaust shop to bend you up a steel pipe to join the filler and tank. Just use some rubber at each end to join, but then as you know, you'll have to be selective in the size of the pipe and the rubber. Might even meed you need to mod the filler neck on the tank somehow. Quote
