sam.webb Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 hey I'm currently working on a Ke55 Corolla.. I'm doing it up for racing and putting a rebuilt 12r in it.. I want to take it to a few club days but don't know what suspension to put in it.. would anyone know the cheapest way? Quote
marksKE25 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 depends on what you would call cheap in the way of suspension. are you able to fit products yourself? ie struts, cross members, springs What kind of racing track vs rally? best thing take it to somewhere like Pedders or who ever is close and get a quote, for a basic set up and that will give a basis on what the price will be to get it professionally done. then you can work back from there. remember good suspension stops you from going into a wall or tree. coln72 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 Find out how it handles before touching anything. Handling is subjective, what suits me would not suit you. Work out what you would like the car to do eg. roll less, understeer less, oversteer less........ and talk to people in your car club on what you want to do specifically. There are also a few good books out there that may help you. By the way, my KE20's set up was cut fron springs, standard struts, relocated lower control arm mounts and strut top, and a specific alignment for the front. On the rear it was standard shocks with softened rear springs. This was a reasonably competitive car for stuff all money. Quote
