  1. almost forgot the front of the car!
  2. I have had a bit of fun getting close to having it all back together, it s been a bit time consuming as we are living in the Pilbara now so everything, and I mean everything has to come by post, and for those playing at home yes you can get a bonnet posted from Japan! cost nearly the same as the bonnet but it can be done! I had to mix the paint colour my self as the local auto shop wont do it. but hey makes for fun, its not the best rebuild that has ever happened but at least it looks loved now, and not so much a beat up old rally car.
  3. after the hasty repair work i decided to give the car an little bit of love.
  4. So I went out for a bit a play a couple of months back and well I kind hit stump, so I have had to do a bit of repair work on the front end, I think it might be time to get the whole car painted, and possibly a new bonnet.
  5. It is not a 4 link as such. But this is the set up on my Ke25. I have a Ta22 diff that has been strengthen using forward lower control arms. The leaf springs are still in use. there is also a forward control arm that extends from the diff and is mounted in a fabricated housing that is recessed into where the back seat would be(seats could still be there if not for the roll cage). The diff is a locker which can make it a little unpleasant on the road. It is built for rallying the rear of this car handles very well and I get lots of traction.
  6. I do like it out here. not keen on having to get everything I want posted out, but the fishing is great and there is an abundance of very fun gravel roads for me to play on. oh yeah the housing prices are complete bullshit, a 3x1 house out here rents for about $1000 pre week. Thankfully we are in company housing!!!
  7. My link About 2000km north of Perth!!!
  8. So the Wife has taken a new Job within Rio Tinto. So we have packed up the family and the corolla and moved to sunny Wickham. Where the hell is that I hear you ask, well it's about 1 hour north of Karratha!! So I am just a bit curious to see if the is any Rolla club members out in the Pilbra as well!
  9. My Ke25 has a 2t with 3t internals so 1.8L with twin 40mm webbers gets about 12-13L/100km. It's rather thirsty now that I think about it.....
  10. Now all you need is a truck full of Coors Beer
  11. yep i have the molds....
  12. yep waiting on some parts so i can get it painted and back on the road, it has a brand new cage it, so I'm looking forward to getting that back up and running again!!
  13. yep dad made the panels, I took it for a play up the back of the hill in perth and 100mph is not an issue.... i think i will leave the engine as dad intended. I am getting the breaks overhauled on monday as it pull wickedly to the left... not good at speed!!!! I will bring in out for the next cruise
  14. So this is my new toy, It was build by my father about 25+ years ago, I recently acquired from a family friend, (it was build for him) It was repainted in my dad's racing colours when he died and was present at Rally Australia about 13 years ago. it's a complete Animal to drive. The 2t is no longer a 1600 it has the internals of the 3t with a very aggressive cam. the diff is locked and the rear end is heavily reinforced and all the goodie in between. All the removable panels except the doors are all fiberglass, and I have the molds to go with!!!! anyway here are some of the photos I have taken hopefully i will get some of it playing in the dirt soon. Cheers Mark
