I am picking up my ae71 wagon and was wondering is it legal to weld up the back doors. If so would i need a plate? Has it been done be4? tell me what u think.

I'm not sure as to the legalities of this. But it would need a modplate for sure. Your best asking an engineer.

Yes you can do it. As long as you cannot reconige that it was a 4 door - all locks, handles have to be removed from outside and inside, everything welded up on both sides. Take it down to QLD transport, and they will simply regestere it as a 2 door.

 

They woudl never know. AS for a mod plate - bens on the money :D

if this isn't a one post wonder, then yes it needs to be engineered, and so does any modification to seating capacity
