overgrown Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Hey guys, while at skidpan last weekend i broke something to do with the clutch cable from excessive clutch kicking. when it happened there was no pressure on the clutch cable so nothing would happen when i put the peddel in. we put tension on it to get me through the night but now after putting another 4k in and putting it back together i can't get the same effect. i put a new clutch/pressure plate in while the motor was out and I'm 99% sure i did it correctly.. so my overall question is. is there any adjustment in the clutch cable to keep tension on it, and is this what i broke? any help is much appreciated Cheers matt Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 replace cable and let us know if it fixes it.. if not maybe you didnt adjust it right, Quote
overgrown Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 well after looking at it again with a mate it seems i need the mount that stops it cable heading towards the gearbox. i have got it drivable but it is far from ideal. if anyone has one of these mounts hit me up.. also i have no adjustment so i could be missing the adjustment item. cheers matt Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 should be a "E" clip or a Hose clamp where the clutch cable come out of the firewall.. from what i know you pull that and tighten the clamp intill the cable is firm... Quote
corollaart Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 I second the eclip ,there should be a rubber grommet in to fire wall then a large flat washer then the e clip.Which clips on the outer cable.Eclips can be found at repco or super cheap on those champion bolt stands the spin around ones. But you have to buy a assortment pack.I had to buy some yesterday there is one in there that fits perfect. :fuzz: hope this helps .
