hey

i was wondering if anyone knows of a good place in or around the penrith area that would weld up my diff.

i don't want to spend to much money as it for my paddock basher

hey bud if you know someone with a welder get them to do it its not that hard,

i did mine it took about 2 hours or so

hey mate, yeah easy as piss me and my mate tryed it for the first time about 8 months ago in my Khanacross/Motorkhana car and it still hasnt broken.

ive got a electric arc welder but i don't think that will be strong enough

an arc welder would be plenty strong enough

Try it out what have you got to loose.

just watch what your doin if your using an arc, guna need a heap of anti spatter and ive seen people wrap the crown wheel in tin foil coz you really don't want spatter anywhere on the crown.. :lmao:

i welded it up i just took the back plate diff drained the oil and welded heaps of rods in the centre.

its alsome welded up i should have done it earlier, 360s galore

over 2 hours to weld it.....

 

Got mine welded up in under 10 mins, you should be able to remove, clean weld and re-install in about 2 hours

 

Mine has had plates welded in instead of just spot welds on the gears. Makes it alot stronger and far less risk of the spot weld breaking and munching your gear set
