Hey guys

 

Well its time to change my timing chain and tentioner.

My question is would my 1982 KE70 have a single or double row timing chain?

The FAQ states some 4Ks had single, making me come to the conclusion that most are double...

The FAQ also states that double is better. Makes sense...

 

so whats the deal guys?

The 4K and 5K are a single row timing chain setup.

 

The 3K is a double row.

My new 4k has a double row. and did before i pulled it apart.

 

I have a 3k double row timing chain here if you have a single row and wanna upgrade.

My old 4K has a double row sitting in it too. I plan to get that out at some point :yes:

But than again my '55 is a bit of an odd ball it would seam

My 4k's out off a ke70. seems like toyota was a bit all over the place when i comes to minor upgrades.

got 3 4k motors, 2 from a ke70, and one from a 55, all of them have double row chain thankfully

my 4k has a double, and ive got 2 at home on the wall
