SLW42 Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 i no it may sound stupid but can you put a something like a 4ag silvertop head straight onto a 4ac motor will it work been wondering weather or not 2 try it Quote
SLW42 Posted January 4, 2009 Author Report Posted January 4, 2009 no, too many issues with the idea like what kinda issues? Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 like the crank not being a counterweighted design and hence potentially wanting to break over 6000rpm continously which a 20v does so easly, having to change pistons or else the compression ratio would be quite low, needing to change rods unless you have an early 4age crank and use the risky stock ones, price of gaskets, doing the work and all when 20v engines are fairly cheap to buy, etc.. fozz Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I'm assuming u want to mount this in a rwd you will either have to cut a hole in the firewall or run aftermarket computer as the dizzy sticks out the rear of the motor Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 I still think chopping the firewall to fit a dizzy cap is stupid Quote
furryfrog Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 wasnt this asked a few months ago? I'm sure there is a 2 or so pages on it. one motor runs a timing belt and one a chain also. Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 no chain on any A series engine, every couple of months someone asks about a G head on a 4ac, I have seen it over 12 times atleast Quote
