Muffo Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I have just purchased a 89 corolla hatch for my Girlfriend, equiped with a full body kit lowered suspension, 2.5 exaust, a dodgy immobiliser and I think a red top 4age. I was looking on wikipedia and it said that they make 103kw, is this a mistake? Also where do i find the engine number and the chasis number as i need them to get roadworthy Quote
Victim Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 The engine number and chassis number, amongst other numbers & codes (like paint & trim colour), is stamped onto a relatively small metal plate and afixed in the engine bay, generally near the back of the engine on the firewall, closest to the cabin. It shouldn't be hidden, have a look under the bonnet and you should see what i mean. Quote
Muffo Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Its not there it only has the vin number on that plate. the engine number is normally stamped into the block but not sure where Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 It should have another plate somewhere as well with the stuff mentioned above, paint code etc. That would just be the compliance plate that you have found. 103kw would also be at the flywheel. More likely 60-80kw at the wheels. Quote
