Werty_1987 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Hey I need to know what year the 2 speed auto (toyoglide) was last put in a KE20 SE 2 door sedan when new? if anyone knows or might know please let me know what you think. i bought a KE20 SE 2 speed auto but i don't know what year its is for sure, it has no compliance plates and no way of knowing what year it was made. Cheers Werty Quote
dfunkt Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 the 2spd toyoglide was also used in the ke30, ke35 and early ke55s, all of which still had the 3k engine as standard. does the year of the box matter that much?? Quote
coln72 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 I don't think its the year of the box he is after. He wants to know the approx time (if ever) that the Toyoglide was fitted to a KE20 so he can date the year of his car. His KE20 seems to be like my old one, its missing the body ID plates so no easy way of ID'ing the year made ;) Quote
philbey Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 WHat years were they built? 70-73? It would be in that range, the Toyoglide would have been present all through the range. Quote

Werty_1987 Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 I have narrowed it down to 1973, by comparing chassis numbers to other KE20. I know its before 11/73, but I'm guessing its 10/73 because the Chassis number is only 9,500 earlier than a KE20 made in November 1973. its really just a guess from here as to whether or not AMI were making up to or in excess off 10,000 cars a month. JiP Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 The two speed toyoglide was used up till around 77. Thats when they changed over to the Trimatic. Quote
