just wanted to get some clarifcation on the subject of a sr20 in a 35

i heard that the firewall needs to be moved back, is this true or will you get away with just diffrent engine mounts?

I wouldn't think so. You'll definitely need custom engine mounts though.

Not a whole lot, the SR20 is not a big motor. About the only place you're going to have to compromise is with the transmission tunnel. The gearbox is sizey and you may have to position the motor further forward than you'd like to allow enough clearance without massaging the tunnel.

Hi mate, to fit the Sr you need to get rid of the small hump on the firewall if you use the standard SR20 box you will need to modify the gearstick hole and cut a little out of the support bar in the floor were the seats bolt up. This is an area were the metal has to be reinforced so make sure you get a good fabricator to do this part. Custom mounts are a must , this is all based on geting the motor as far back and as low as possible in the engine bay. You might be able to get around a few things if you don't mount it as low. Refer to marty k's ke30 with sr in gallery as Kebin has already noted. Here are a few pics that should give you an idea of whats involved.
