July 10, 200917 yr comment_358119 Hey guys I got a 3k in my 36. The problem is that when driving sometimes it starts to cut out. I have replaced the fuel filter and pump. but its still not creating a vacuum. The fuel filter is only filling up a 1/4 when it should be more I have pulled the pump apart all the diaphram's are fine, the spring seems fine, and it seems like it is working fine. I'm wondering if somethings wrong where the arm makes contact with the cam, maybe it's not pushing the arm in fully and not creating a large enough vacuum? I put a friends pump in just to make sure and its doing the exact same thing. I'm out of ideas guys Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Sam Report
July 10, 200917 yr comment_358170 trial fit an electric pump to see if that helps you out.... If it is occurring with two different pumps it can only mean that the lobe on the cam that drives the pump is stuffed of there is a blockage some where else, maybe in the tank pick up. Possibly blow some air through the fuel lines to see if it helps. Report
July 13, 200917 yr comment_358566 Are you also using the black spacer plate between the block and fuel pump? If not the lever on the pump won't move as far and hence won't pump as much fuel. Report
July 13, 200917 yr comment_358637 Also, if you are taking a corner fast the fuel can flow out of the fuel bowl and into one of the vacuum lines and that plays havic with the fuel supply Report

If not the lever on the pump won't move as far and hence won't pump as much fuel. hey yeah its got a spacer but its not the black one it's like an aluminum plate, and mine is the only k i have seen it on. i'm pretty sure its a factory item. i was playing around with it more and i noticed it is only doing it when the secondary opens, i was thinking maybe something's not right with the vacuum advance? or blocked jet, i have blown it out and checked out the whole carb aswell. July 15, 200917 yr Author comment_359226 hey guys i noticed something weird, i could rev the car up by moving the key so that seemed kinda weird it wouldn't start unless i held the key on and moving it back and forwards would rev the car. :dance: Report
