ancullen Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Yes but he was talking about when these motors are used in Minis. Of course, he doesn't actually have any personal experience with the motors, it's all just what he's read in magazines. Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 even a stripped race mini still weighs 500-odd kg a bike engine would however, be better than a leyland A series. but that's not very hard, even a K motor would win that crown :y: www.situne.no and look at the escort with the turbo bike motor. f@$k yeah ;) Quote
Tiger Posted August 24, 2005 Report Posted August 24, 2005 (edited) Guess what Tiger saw sitting acroos the road from his work? A KE30 with a Commo V6 in place, with a HiLux diff conversion already and I believe it's bolted up to a T50 (i'll confirm that when I ask him how much he'd want for it.. hehehehehe) (rubs hands together and grins) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA Edited August 30, 2005 by Tiger Quote
ancullen Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Friggin' bogan. Surely they'd be using the Commodore 5-speed wouldn't they? Or a W5x, not a T50? Quote
Tiger Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 None... I saw with my own eyes, the standard VN Auto tranny... TH700-R. Apparently, this bolted straight in and no fab work! According to the guys. IF it was manual, they said it'd be a bit more of a headache to fit. And getting the engine in to begin with wasn't a major deal. "Went straight in also". He has to make up engine mounts, but he's a steel fab worker... so it'll be child's play for him, he reckons. Crazy, huh? Quote
ancullen Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 But what's the point of putting a 125kW lump of shit engine into a KE55 when you can drop in something like a 185kW 3S-GTE work of art? Quote
Tiger Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Ah.... you can get v6 stroker kits, you can blow em, you can twin turbo em... but yeah... each to their own, I guess. It ain't your car Ancullen.. so don't fuss :rocknroll: Actually, it ain't my car either! :P I'm sticking to a 4 cylinder swap for my car :rocknroll: More practical and who says 4's don't pull out some power figures!!!! Quote
ancullen Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Glad to hear it Tiger. I was worrying that you might have been boganized. Have you made a final decision on which 4-cylinder you're going to use? Still thinking SR20??? Quote
ancullen Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Oh hell yes, I'd support 3S over SR, but last I recall Tiger seemed to lean toward SR. Quote
Tiger Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 hahahaha! I'm tossing up now 3S and 13B... I NOW have a steel fab boy in the same factory as I... and he was also an engine rebuilder for 10 years!!!! He thinks both conversions are easy! So I have found the man to help me do some dirty work! :( Oh... that other idiot selling the Rolla with the V6 commo motor in it... is as follows: VN 3.8 litre V6.... (just sitting in... no mounts made or anything and not running) Hilux diff (provision... but not in) Celica Brakes (sitting in the front seat) Body fair... $3500 !!!!!!! I doubt this will sell anytime soon :D But yeah.. dunno if I should start a new poll on the 13B/3S swap or just get my hands on a 3S motor and shut the hell up! hahahaha Quote
Super Jamie Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 i think you'll find a 13b is illegal. naturally aspirated 12a is the most you can put in in most states. look it up before you get your heart set on it Quote
Tiger Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 The research has begun... believe me :( In regards to this thread though..... :D Quote
