altezzaclub Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 I'll be fitting the SUs to the 4K over Xmas and on the test head I can see the alignment of the Lynx manifold with the ports is terrible. The correct way to sort this is to put just the manifold on in the best position, then drill through the manifold into the head with a 3 or 4mm drill and insert expanding roll pins. They stay in the head each time you take the manifold off (in theory) and it means the manifold is located to within a mm or so. Has anyone done this on a K head, and where did you drill? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Don't you have locating dowels between ports 1&2 and 3&4? Quote
philbey Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Yeh, mine definitely has dowels as well. Also, I'd use proper dowel pins, not roll pins. Dowels will locate much better and will be more durable. Quote
altezzaclub Posted December 9, 2009 Author Report Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Solved! Test head doesn't, but hopefully the head on the car does! This is the Xmas holidays job! Thanks guys.... Edited December 9, 2009 by altezzaclub Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 haha thought that would be the case. They're not pressed into the head very hard so if you need to swap them between head you should just be able to pull them out with a set of bull nose pliers. :hmm: Quote
