Doesnt smell oily No milky sludge under the oil cap Oil is topped up Water is topped up has been getting rather warm lately burns 2 sec of oil on ignition (valve stem seals?) breather and catch tank to fix perhaps? kiahn Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 is it all the way through all of your pipes or just after a certain point looks like your turbo may need new seals or something my NA had this and it was oil coming from the breather in the throttle body Quote

G`day mate, have a check and see if that sludge is water soluble. If so the problem could lie with your air cleaner not doing a good job. Although I don`t use a turbo yet, it seems that most brands will blow a bit of oil through in normal operation. Over heating would most likely not be related to your turbo unless you are using a water cooled type. If you are and you are using coolant not water (I hope) there could be a bit of leakage there too. Some coolants use a soluble lubricant and the sludge could even be that. Good luck anyway. luke.t. Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 i would say your turbo has a slight leak... Quote
kiahn Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 what is the KNOWN condition of the turbo?? run an oil cooler if its getting too hot, or get a larger radiator/thermofan btw what engine are you running and how demanding are you of the engine?? Quote
Roo Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) lick it and see what it taste like............... this is before or after the supercharger? check your charger oil , also check before the charger if that shits in it Edited December 19, 2009 by Roo Quote
Evan G Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 perfectly normal for intercooler hoses to have some oil in them to a certan point, all turbos will some oil blow by in them, see it at work on trucks and vans all the time. Quote
Jesseb369 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 this is dumb but.. Maybe the turbo is sucking in heaps moist air... and when its compressed it makes moisture inside the intercooler because of the rapid expansion and compression from the turbo and then cooling it down making it dense and moist? Does this make sense. Heck i don't know. Might be the reason. But the picture seems metalic... So maybe your seals on your bearing have gone a little ? Quote
