Is A 5k Just A Bored Out 4k?

is a 5k engine from a liteace/townace just a 4k with 200cc more displacement? i'm considering swapping to a 5k but thought it might be easier to get the 4k bored out to 1.5 or 1.6. anyone had this done? how much do you reckon it would cost?

The 5K runs a 4K crank, yet uses bigger pistons and dished pistons at that.

 

You're better off getting a 5K than messing about with a 4K in the end.

Not all 4Ks can be bored that much . Blocks become too thin Another difference is the size of lifter bores.
