Where Is The Intermittent Wiper Control Box?

i went down the local pick a part and saw 4 coronas with int wipers and i couldnt find the control box?

 

wheres the control box on ke**?

Its been a looooong time since I've fiddled with a pre-ke70 but I seem to remember a box or two behind the passenger kick panel

KE55 = Behind the drivers side kick panel.

 

Under all the relays.

sounds like a big job to swap over to int wipers?

I know the stalk and the box you will definatly need but maybe the whole underdash loom is needed?

i was a bit confused when i saw the corona loom,

 

like 7 wires on the wiper motor on the corona and 5 on the corolla?

on the corona the wiper loom goes on 2 separate relays on the bottom kick panel before the control box?

 

sounds like a nightmare if the whole dash loom needs modifying

I'm pretty sure you can get an aftermarket switch that has a built in intermittent, my ke35 doesn't have the intermittent so i was just going to put a seperate switch somewhere, should be a kit available from jaycar or dicksmith or something. Might look into that and actually give you some helpful advice :dance:

hey jono, did you ever discover details about any aftermarket int setups?

 

ive got a hard top same as yours, 1980 tho
