RedKE30 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Hey all, Anyone know where I can get a lowrider or dragster push bike in Victoria, something with old school styling like these: http://www.bicycledesigner.com/defaulthome...3FType%3DDeluxe I remember seeing a thread a while ago about someone building custom ones, I'm pretty sure it was from a Toyota forum. I looked on here and on Toymods, but no luck. If anyone has that link, I would love to see it. I've looked around eBay and the trading post but I can't really find what I'm after. Cheers guys, Sian Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 If I remember correctly, there is a bike shop, not a particularly big one, within easy walking distance of the Chelsea train station, they had a ton of parts for old school Raleigh Choppers..... The only trick would be getting a frame custom made, not sure if anywhere in particular specialises in that sort of thing, but have a chat to the blokes at your local Harley shop, and they might be able to put you onto an enthusiast who might be willing to do up a design for you, or even make you up a frame...... No guarantees, but it's what I'd do...... Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 God that's hot...... Love it..... Quote

Chobis Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 brenton why am I not surprised man! Hehe.... okay I deserved that..... my only defense is that it seemed like a good idea at the time. ;) Also once I got the Stout it was something to put in the back for a bit of a giggle. Quote
RedKE30 Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Chobis you rock! That is awesome! Are you really selling it? Thanks for that philbey, they didn't show up in my googling. I might go down and have a geez. Quote
philbey Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 hah you're right brenton, lowriders are cool. Quote
Chobis Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Chobis you rock! That is awesome! Are you really selling it? Thanks for that philbey, they didn't show up in my googling. I might go down and have a geez. Not really trying to sell it, but would be happy to sell it aswell. Only problem is that I would get nothing for it compared to what it cost me to build, so not too fussed on selling it either. Makes an ineteresting shed ornament. Be aware RedKE30, costs of these things can blow out unless you are happy to just buy one off the shelf and that's it. I built mine over 5 years ago and I had a few custom bits made. Whole thing ended up costing me over 3 Grand. Sadly it still just looks like a generic off the shelf Lowrider. ;) hah you're right brenton, lowriders are cool. Custom framed ones are. Mine is just a standard Dragster long frame with mainly off the shelf parts. As I said.... seemed like a good idea at the time, but that was 5 to 6 years ago when I was just becoming interested in the custom and lowrider scene. I do still however want a '63/'64 Impala with bags to go with the bike. :D I don't like having stuff that's the same as everyone else's and even wanting an Impala from that era annoys me cos they are so popular, but I can't help but love them as well. Same with my Rolla..... there are at least 6 other white ones in Adelaide that pretty much look the same as mine. Not usually my style, but I can't help but love it. Quote
RedKE30 Posted February 5, 2010 Author Report Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Yeah I was just looking at buying one off the shelf, as I'm not really handy with a welder and not really sure how to build bikes, and also styling etc. EDIT: How much would you be looking for if you were to sell it? philbey Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 yeh impala's are a bit hackneyed. You really need to be a mexican to own one. I'm keen on a bagged '65 Riviera one day. Quote
