Rambo Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Hey guys, Just purchased a KE30 Corolla with a 4K speedway-spec motor in it (minus twin webers/320odd degree cam) it has the following: Built 4k engine incl: Balanced Crank & Rods High-Comp Pistons Ported + polished + shaved head (around 11:1cr) Race bearings ARP headstuds Stage 3 cam (290 degree if i recall) Valve springs and retainers 32/36 Weber carb incl race intake manifold Re-cored radiator with thermo fan. Custom extractors with 2" exhaust 5 speed manual from KE70 Lowered. Cd/mp3 with 6x9s only Tacho with shift light Anyway, the brakes + suspension are pretty crap on it and I was wondering what upgrades I could do to it for better braking power and some more stable handling? Also, last night the engine started spluttering and won't rev - I found only the idler jet in the carby is squirting fuel and the other is blocked up but theres not much fuel pressure so it might be the pump. Once I fix it I'll post up some pictures! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Please familiarise yourself with the search function in the top right corner. This question (brake upgrades) get asks all the time, hence you can find the answers you want in an older thread. Quote
19914afc Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 you can adapt front s13 coilovers and skyline brakes pretty easy, then for the rear if you buy a full set of s13 coilovers you can mod the rear ones so you have adjustable rear sus. I'm not sure how to do that but some guy at work was trying it. Quote

muv-12a Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Sounds like a lot of work converting from leaf springs. ...and expensive! Nothing wrong with reset leaf springs with an additonal leaf. Replacement Shocks all round and Front/Rear swaybars will yield good results for the street. Quote
