Starting to prep the engine bay today, and over the years of the cars life, has had alot of different things bolted in different spots that arnt needed now.

 

Is it ok to use bog? There about 10mm holes?

 

Or should i wait and weld them up?

The bog just won't have enough to hold onto.

Weld them, best to get into good habits :P

For the general smoothing the bog will be ok, but careful how much you use over the corners and joins. (It will tend to crack under normal

driving conditions due to the bay flexing). Weld up as much as you can.

do it once, do it right.

worst comes to worst, fibreglass. you can get it from supercheap. after a rub down, skin coat of bog to prep for paint. if your not going to weld. make sure when you fibreglass to go a little further from the hole. use 80grit spaper before, gives it a rough base to hold onto.

you best mate is pepwash before you bog or paint :dance: keep that in mind

Just use copper or something that the weld wont stick to and put it on the outside of hole then just plug it up with the mig.

sand back and bog it thats all that needs doing primer it so water doesn't get in the bock and rust out.
