Cut the springs while they are still in there if your just gonna put cut ones in. Cut 3/4 of the way through then hit it with a hammer so it snaps. Then cut the left over bits out. A bit finnicky but took me 5 mins per strut. Just make sure you only cut the one coil. Thats how we do it in the hood bro...

also quite dangerous too, but what i've always done is undone the brake lines let the fluid leak out and while the lines are off, if it needs pads i've fitted pads too, but all you do is un bolt the strut at the bottom by undoing the 17mm bolts, while somebody is holding the steering wheel to stop the strut from turning, then get a big flatblade screw driver and push it inbetween the swaybar and chassis, then lean down on the screw driver and pull the strut out from the lower control arm, then compress the spring, get a 19mm socket onto the top nut, and either hold the top flat cut out on the top of the strut, or get a pair of vice/multi grips onto the very top of the inside of the strut, near where the top of the spring sits and work against yourself to loosen the top nut, then remove spring and repeat process only in reverse, if you understood any of that, and if you pull the brake lines off remember to start your bleeding process off from the farthest brake away from the master cylinder

also quite dangerous too,

yeah mate especially if you cut too far and the spring collapses on the cutting disk. Thats why I go 3/4 then hammer it. Its just soooo much quicker but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know how or have someone who knows close by. Anyway its illegal. Why are we talking about it? I didn't do it.... :D :D

ok guys so i have some good news. i figure out how to put the stock rear springs back in. dad came home today and saw hwo low it was at the back and demanded i put them back in haha so i rolled over and agreed. so I'm half way through, took me 2 hours to work out i should compress the stock spring to make it easier to put back in hahaha. 2nd side should only take 10 mins, if that

If you still have a stock spring out, measure the cut spring free length and the stock spring free length.

Then if you have any photos of it lowered we can all see that cutting 75mm or whatever off lowers it by this much..

am i measuring from top to bottom? or following the coils around till the bottom? lol if you know what i mean

From top to bottom =

Stock spring 350mm

Cut spring 230mm

so cutting 120mm off your stock springs leave you this \/

I stood mine up on the concrete floor and measured the height to the very top coil.

Stock rear was 368mm... say 370. So your lowest spring is 230. that's 140 lower than stock, which is massive!

The springs we put on were 340mm, only 30mm shorter, and the fronts were the same amount off, so the car looks normal rather than standing on tip-toes as Ke70s do.

Running those 230mm would have been endless cop bait.

they are my old cut kings , ran them for over a yr without cop attention , car sat at 90mm on the rails

i cut em 4 times to get the desired height :blinks:

should have sat lower than the above pic ..

OMG!

Did they shorten your back an inch from the pounding??

How far to the bump stops?

There must be no cops near your house! My wife got stopped last night for just driving with driving lights on... Cop must have been bored, wife's not that good-looking!
