Teddy Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Hey all 1) - How can you change the colour of plastic parts in your car? Eg. I want to change the colour of the plastic panel surrounding the radio. How do you do it, How hard is it, whats it cost, how long does it take to do, and how long will the new colour last before it can be scratched off easily? 2) - How much would it cost to get the Dash bord sprayed (dash has no cracks) 3) - How hard is it to change the colour of the vinal on the doors - any tips ? 4) - How much would it cost to get the roof lining changed to another colour? Cheers, Teddy Quote
Ruts Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Painting vinyl is easy - like anything its all in the preparation. I would recommend you get your hands on some "Viponds Prep Vinyl" and follow the instructions. Basically its a thinners type product for cleaning vinyl and man does it do a great job. Even if you arent painting and just want to clean your door trims etc then this is the stuff. Most paint places [spam] Bro works for Solver at Moronfield [/spam] now carry a range of 'flexi' paints that are designed to go on over vinyl. So you can match doors dash etc. I did some detailing on my door trims - blue over the grey and it was a simple process - used a sponge style brush and only 1 coat. Quote

Ruts Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 errr from memory it was about $30 for a 1 litre can - but it covers a shitload cause its quite thin - but covers well - kinda odd that bit. Quote
