man atleast you hit the rear instead of the front. (bending LCA/tierods/wheels) and never having a proper straight steering car again!

Update.....

 

ok guys got myself a new diff from wreckers and came with all the arms and handbake cables :lolcry: we looked at the plate and its a 3.9:1 woop woop score :dance:

 

did some work and started to pull the diff out not to much but little buy little it will be done!!

 

will have to get some parts now and another wheel bearing retainer and maybe seals and bushes :bash: oh well it will have a fresh rear end in it for my sis :wink:

Update.........

 

Great news after my hard work and all the moaning and groaning i finally got the diff in and finished her only just before lol :dance:

 

Went for a drive to test her out and waaaa waaa waaa BUGGER :bash:, The diff center bearings are gone :bash: so now ill have to change centers from old to new diff but ill prob get someone to do it seeing how its a huge job on these diffs :blinks:

 

Oh well I'm glad it works and it will be ready for another motorkhana tomoz woop woop :lolcry:

Update....

 

After driving the little girl around sounding like a lawn mower :blinks: dad found a manifold from a guy in Melbourne who is known as "Captain corolla"

 

So hopefully will have it running a bit better lol :lolcry:

 

Changed the tie rod ends tonight after i finished work put them on drove down the road and arrr it was a scary drive :blinks: so will book to get wheel alignment tomoz through work hopefully not to much

 

This weekend my car club I'm in is running a like treasure hunt sort of thing so dad decided to get his sprinter out and will do it with mum where as me and my sis will be in the 70, hope to get heaps of pics for u guys and one with the two old girls together :happy:

Update....

 

Went on the treasure hunt and was having lots i=of fun and not doing to bad then psssss and temp gauge was out the roof :bash: pulled straight over and top hose burst :blinks: luckily it was a little hole so got some scissors from a mate and cut a bit of put hose back on.Found some water on side of road and put it in to get me home :happy: BUSH MECHANICS :lolcry:

 

I fitted the new manifold the other day and now she doesnt sound like a lawn mower yahhhh :laff:, while i had the car home i decided or nagged by dad to fix the cooling system so pulled a few hoses of and reversed flushed her and found dark brown water in heater core :blinks: thermostat housing was stuffed and same with thermostat itself so found stuff in shed and put it together then found a hole in heater core outlet :bash: so now ill have to buy a new one and fix it grrrrr :(

 

Dad has also decided that he will buy my sis another car and let me buy the rest of him :laff: so ill save up get the diff fixed, lowered king springs and decent exhaust and ill be set :wink: and also fix the panels and other little stuff

Update....

 

Went to winton on the weekend for my birthday for the fun day :happy: i was lucky enough to go in the first sesh and did a few awesome fun laps before the temp gauge creeped up heeps :blinks: so went into pits asap stoped the car opened the radiator cap carefully and put some water in while it was running and it started bubbling BUGGER :bash: ive blown the head gasket. So i packed up and headed home :blinks:

 

So ive been trying to to figure out whether to pull the head of and fix her or try and buy a new engine ???? I'm sure ill figure it out and hopefully something comes if i do find a new engine ill prob save this engine for the KE17 :lolcry:

 

Hopefully i can fix her soon and get working on the other rolla :happy:

Update...

 

Had the day off today so i decided to get the overheating issue fixed. Pulled the head off and radiator out and got them sent out to get them checked for leaks etc... Got most of my parts like vrs kit, thermostat housing, thermostat, alt belt and getting the water pump and hoses tomoz :happy:

 

The one thing with this vrs kit i got it cost a bit more then normal ones but it is awesome it has all the gaskets etc to suit 2k to 4k and has all the diff sized stuff over the years its a good one to buy for the shed so when ya need it for u next project it will suit any year :hmm:

 

Will be doing other stuff to car this week so its ready for GOR :dance:

Got it running :dance: woop woop she lives to see another day got it started and all bled up hopefully and will give it an oil change tomoz :happy:

 

Plan to change and replace a few things on thurs :wink:

 

Fri ill recheck the clearances and make sure she is all good for the big trip GOR :dance:

Na it would all be fine now, I might get my car fixed up and go and take a trip through there and find a reasonable course for a day trip cruise

Yea I have driven up there many times just not recently, so i recon I will suss something out soon and see if we can get some people keen for it
