ancullen Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 I finally have uploaded some more pictures of Lola onto my computer, so in the spirit of uploading, I'll upload some onto RollaClub! They're only engine pics, but that'll show anyone that might have thought I was someone with a KE55 with a K-series impersonating someone with a KE55 with a 4A-GZE. Doesn't she look mean with the headlights taped up in black??? I seem to be having trouble getting enough boost though... And check out the interesting adaptor bracket thingy for the intercooler. Not sure of why the intercooler mounting points don't line up with the factory ones on the engine. Quote
Tiger Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Custom chrome piping... HERE WE COME! Quote
crazy_bunny Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 (edited) i don't think it lines up cos its not a 4AGZE cooler.. it looks like a subaru cooler... GZE cooler was 100mm thick and had proper end tanks. :EDIT:subby one on the left.. GZE one on the right Edited September 22, 2005 by crazy_bunny Quote
Tiger Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Definitely looks after market. Plus.. wasn't the original 4AGZE coolers more "centralized on top" in the engine bay? Quote
ancullen Posted September 22, 2005 Author Report Posted September 22, 2005 Spank you very much Crazy_bunny. Any idea which Subaru this intercooler is off? WRX??? And the original intercooler was mounted directly over the top of the engine Tiger, I just figured it might have been moved over to one side for some reason. I figured wrong obviously. Quote
crazy_bunny Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 yeah pretty sure its a WRX... but ur coolers pretty fingerd. doubt ud get much airflow thru the fins at all Quote
Tiger Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Come to think of it.. it does look like a bolt-on cooler to an EJ20T motor  Quote
ancullen Posted September 22, 2005 Author Report Posted September 22, 2005 Custom chrome piping... HERE WE COME! Already got the piping, we just had it off to do some stuff on the motor. And it's just plain piping with black paint on it (which I prefer anyway). Quote
ancullen Posted September 22, 2005 Author Report Posted September 22, 2005 (edited) yeah pretty sure its a WRX... but ur coolers pretty fingerd. doubt ud get much airflow thru the fins at all Hence the need for a FMIC so tools don't get rested on it. Edited September 22, 2005 by ancullen Quote
irokin Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Throw a liberty water-air intercooler in there... http://www.japparts.com.au/images/subaruwtaint.jpg doesnt look like an ideal place for an air-air intercooler. Its right over the exhaust and any time spent sitting still is gonna cause HUGE heat soak. Quote
ancullen Posted September 28, 2005 Author Report Posted September 28, 2005 I've heard a water-to-air intercooler would be much better as there'd be less piping. And I think my intercooler may be the original AE101 version, just without the cover that Toyota put on them. Quote
irokin Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 Only less piping compared to a front mount. They have advantages and disadvantages over air-air intercoolers. Plenty of info out there if your interested in it. Quote
