SLOTH Snr Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 After the death of the 7k I've been looking for a 4or5k to put in temporary I saw a ke70 wagon listed on trading post, all it said was in good nick $200. Went and checked it out wednesday and WOW! One owner 140000 k's bit shabby outside no noticable rust, motor that clean you could eat off it. I handed him the $200, he let us keep the and use the last months rego up. So Craig drove it home. Guess what i haven't seen Craig or the car since. It must be O.K Quote
kangaroosa Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 (edited) Good find Bill. So when are you going to swap motors over.......when Craig finds his way home again i assume. If so, you better pick up some flowers and chocolates for your better half, then ask her if you can store yet another car on the front lawn. Edited September 30, 2005 by kangaroosa Quote

kangaroosa Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 the ke70 will be up for grabsonce i pull the motor Why did i just get an image of Teddy finding out freight costs? Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 It has HI CAM badges on it but it has a 4k. I thought the hi cam was the 5k Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 So hicam is it just advertising or is it something better than standard Quote
kangaroosa Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 (edited) I believe the cam sits higher in the block than your standard 4K. It was a marketing attempt by toyota to compete with other car companies that advertised their cars as having overhead cam. I believe there is no performance difference, but rather a marketing ploy. Super Jamie Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 there is no difference in the engine to any other 4k, it's just a badge. other manufacturers were bringing out "overhead cam" and "twincam" cars at the time, and "hicam" was just toyota's marketing ploy so they didn't get left behind until the 4a-c and 4a-ge corollas came out Quote
