  1. Poz just informed me of this day and i would be keen to see what my POS is putting out. So is anyone from the SE or East keen on meeting at somewhere like the Todd Rd Servo/KFC and cruising the few kms to the dyno shop together? Would be a good chance to fuel up and get me there with at least half a tank :P
  2. I was in two minds when i posted. I just made brekky and wont make it there before the cars leave. So I'm out.
  3. Always good to see another Rotorolla in the build. The BP will be alot of fun in that car.
  4. Holley as pictured. It started weeping from the rubber gasket thats also part of the diaphragm. The Diaphragm itself was also very worn....just really stressed and worn out. I also used a Speco dial one that i had lying around to get me by. That also weeped from under the turn dial.
  5. Agreed. I was referring to 13BT's and the like. Although id like to see more than one example of E85 not making more power in NA situations. I've never really researched alot of street cars using E85. For me it was just a stop gap solution to my problem. I'm keen to hear more on the topic. Col - Good news about the extra fuel. I guess they have taken the extra fuel burn into consideration. I should add that i was running a nikki carby with paper seals and they were fine. The rubber in the regulator diaphragm and Holley carby lasted about 2 months or 4 tanks of fuel. So you may not have to worry about investing too much money in stuff that wont fail if you only need it to last 24hrs.
  6. I used it in the Rotorolla when going through emissions testing. - You have to run bigger jetting - I just drilled the mains about 0.3mm bigger. It was driveable enough to pass (i wasnt too fussed on making peak HP as it was just to pass testing) - You will burn approx 1/3 more fuel than ULP - You have to advance the timing - The E85 flogged out the rubber seals in my fuel pump and regulator. Most people I know of actually get more power if they have the car tuned specifically for E85 over ULP. However you use 1/3 more fuel for the same mileage, which in my opinion outweighs the cheaper cost of E85. So i'm not too sure its the perfect fuel to use for an economy race. Sure you get more power and its cheaper to fill up......but you will run out of fuel 1/3 sooner than ULP. I've always meant to trawl youtube for V8 Supercar Footage from the past. These days you always hear them talk about fuel burn per lap and how far the tank will get them before they have to pit. I'm interested to see how many laps they could stretch a full tank of Premium fuel compared to the E85 they use these days. Thats the kind of real life testing and data that will have the least 'bullcrap exaggeration' in it.
  7. I'm going to the Avalon AirShow....otherwise I would have been in for sure. I think theres a typo in the race times btw.
  8. I'm tipping its got either a V6 or V8 in it given his kits. I used Enkelman Consulting in Braeside. Approved VASS Signatory. Pretty fair and good to deal with.
  9. Better Options?.....Maybe However, if your into Rotaries and are dead keen on one then theres no other decision to be made. Anything is possible, so go make an appointment with an engineer and go discuss it. He/She will either knock it on the head or give you the go ahead. Worry about it after that.
  10. The Southern 80 has been postponed, so I may rock up to this afterall.
  11. I am astonished at how well it has come up, from what it was. I'm quite jealous of the bodywork and the paintjob considering it was done in your driveway. The looks that this car got on the GOR cruise wasnt surprising in the least. I'm still livered that my cam missed your super hektik crossed up airborne overtaking manouver, with smoke trails on landing like a 747. P.S. Your friends hot :P
  12. I'm uploading my Captain Slide footage to Youtube at the moment. On a side note, I just found my new Rego label for the corolla that I paid about a month ago. So I did the whole trip with an expired Rego Label......can't imagine that being a cheap fine if I happend to get pulled over.
  13. I have the footage of the Bumper cars and the footage of Ryan taking a Slide. I meant to ask Ryan last night if he wanted me to cover his plates in the Vid just incase it gets some unecessary attention. I'll start working on it later anyway.
  14. Was a great Weekend. Thanks J and Mel again. I didnt take many photos either......but my gopro is about to be plugged in so i can review the footage of Captain Slide :P
  15. Yay for Red hot extractors under my feet. Asbestos socks packed - Check :P You always wanted to drive a Rotary.....I call we swap cars on Sunday :)
  16. Correct. The Outbound one obviously. I was there pumping up my tyres when a few others rocked up. A fuel tanker moved us along, so i think we just parked in the carpark next to the Servo. Would only be about an hours drive from Kilmore?
  17. Any chance of making a call and seeing if they'll do express post. You may be a day or two short as it is for normal post given that tommorrows a public holiday. Ive dealt with VicRoads, so I just realised how much you would be asking of them to sort something like that out.....
  18. Custom Plates or Regular? They gave me regular ones when i rego'd my car. They just had a rack of them, and they plucked a set out. Custom plates however were sent out via mail.
  19. So I google mapped Todd Rd to Waurn Ponds. 80kms and 56mins. So Meetup at Todd Rd anytime before 6:50am for a 7'ish departure. Any thoughts guys? I don't recall how long it took for us to get there last year. I was too pre-occupied with watching my fuel gauge and doing the maths :P
  20. I don't recall reading it thus far, but can I suggest a meet point at the Todd Rd servo again for anyone out this side of town. Id have to read over what time the meetup in Waurn Ponds was to get an idea of a meet time at Todd Rd. Anyone in?
  21. Emission standards for replacement engines 1972 and later model vehicles with substitute engines must meet the intent of the later of the Australian Design Rules applicable to either: a) The original vehicle; or b) The substitute engine. To ensure continued compliance with emission standards, any replacement engine should come from a vehicle which is subject to the same or more stringent emission control requirements. An alternative is for an earlier engine to be upgraded during reconditioning to more recent engine specifications. All anti-pollution devices should be fitted and functional. Vehicles manufactured prior to noise and/or exhaust emissions related ADRs must meet certain minimum noise and emission requirements if the engine modification is to such an extent as to require certification by an (Extract from the NSW Transport Website) CLICK From what I understand, anything that would normally need to be engineered in a post 1972 car, will still need to be done to a pre 1972 car. The difference is they don't have to meet the stricter db and pollution tests associated with the ADR's. Most Transport sites suggest the same thing.
  22. We used to hire the Port Melb one out for a corporate event. Everyone at work, plus the local trades we use for fitouts would have the track all to ourselves with pendants presented at the end. It was a 10min warmup - 3 x 15min races - 10min fun time at the end. Fun track but the karts werent the quickest. Poz - Yep the Phillip Island track is a scale replica. I found the track quite boreing to be honest. Flat out 99% of the track and only braking for the hairpin (honda corner). I'm open to trying out other tracks.
  23. The track at Phillip Island was a good trip last time. Cruise there.....Go Karting......Lunch.....Cruise Home. The tracktime was a little short, and being on the track with kiddies was a little tedious.
  24. The bloke that wired my car up was making looms for 4age conversions. *EDIT* Ive sent him a PM, so hopefully he gets back to me if hes keen to take a look.
