Ke50 Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 at my bunnings there are two types of paint stripper. one is called citristrip, which is more for woods as it doesnt have any 'nasty' chemicals that will discolour your timber. the other is a 'sparco' industrial paint stripper, which is the stronger stuff, but don't use it on timber because it will turn it grey. a customer told me that when he used the 'sparco' stuff it actually ate through the old bog as well. kangaroosa Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 a customer told me that when he used the 'sparco' stuff it actually ate through the old bog as well. Yep, it will do that too. It only takes thin portions off at a time though (i suppose the bog is too dense for the paint stripper to penetrate the whole lot). I got a 4L can of paint stripper from an auto paint shop, and it was heaps stronger than the "Motorpro??" brand i bought from K-Mart previosly. Quote

styler Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 man you guys are messy! i use latex gloves and let the stripper do all the work, then scrape it off and put more on if needed. lol can't say i have had it in the crack of my toes though! yeah dropsheet is a great idea :D Quote
Clown Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 after a while we started using gloves, by then it was a bit to late though. Quote
