get a pair of pliers and just squeeze the top of the tube a tiny bit. refit dipstick if it comes out, squeeze the tube more

Hang on Evan, I think Andy is saying hes knocked/loosen the actual tube where it goes into the block. So now its moving around uncontrolled. Maybe it can be soldered :hmm I'm sure there will be a solution.

There's an o-ring on there which perishes and goes hard. Fine until you bump it and break the seal (and usually the remains of the o-ring fall off) :P

 

Take the tube down to repco or stupid cheap and find the right size o-ring or like evan says just jam the f*cker back in there with some hardening sealant.

I've stuck it in there with some heavy duty loctite, bugger didn't know about the o ring, guess this sucker is going to leak now.
