Redwarf Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 If in doubt, pop over and I'll have a look for you. Unfortunately I'm unavailable this weekend, due to commitments in South Oz, but any other time would be fine. Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted October 19, 2005 Author Report Posted October 19, 2005 Yeah i dunno but today i didn't seem to hear it at all. Could it be that it sat in the one spot for about two weeks and the oil hadn't been circulated? Quote
Redwarf Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 Doubt it, however you may just need to turn the stereo up a little more. Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted October 20, 2005 Author Report Posted October 20, 2005 Haha yeah i think the stereo is going to be cranked often now  :D thanks anyway but I'm on the sunshine coast so it is a bit of a drive to your place (your in brisbane i take it) Quote
Redwarf Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 Yep, I'm in Aspley, so it could be worse. Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 in all honesty, if you're making any sort of power out of the engine, i'd be inclined to replace the unis anyway. having a front universal snap means your car does a pole vault, generally with disastrous results. it would suck to write your car off because of some 20 dollar bearings the part number for jap unis is K5A517 Quote
Redwarf Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 That do be the number. For info: Repco sell the good Hardy Spicer ones under that part number. Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted October 23, 2005 Author Report Posted October 23, 2005 Ok guys an update. I had a look underneath and discovered that my tailshaft bolts weren't too tight at all. and this was giving me my aforementioned diff noise. when the gearbox went back in i forgot to tighten them up. Its all good now. Unis were replaced when the car was put together so theyve only done 5000 kays. Quote
Super Jamie Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 holy crap, that ain't safe! good thing you looked in time Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted October 24, 2005 Author Report Posted October 24, 2005 Yeah i was pretty scared when i discovered it. As there was quite alot of noise coming from it. The stereo ran out of volume lol. I'm still stumped as to how they came undone. Quote
Redwarf Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 A change to nylok nuts may contribute to the warm and fuzzy feeling, I have them on the Dwarf, so even if they aren't tight, thay either won't undo, or will undo slower than standard nuts. Quote
