hello,

Just got my cylinder head reconditioned, and am waiting for a torque wrench before i can put it all back 2gether properly.

just one quick question, all of the emissions control vacuum hoses are a mess and I'm pretty sure where wrong to begin with,

I've consulted my gregorys repair manual and it gives no clear instruction on what goes where.

I'm willing to leave it all off for simplicities stake, but am wondering if anyone has a photos of a correct setup, or at least where the vacuum advance from the distributor goes.

I would like if possible to put it all back to stock specification.

Any help regarding the vacuum hose/carby/emissions control apreciated.:)

Here's the manual one. I just used the charcoal canister and the vac advance. Plugged all the rest and left them in place.

thats great thankyou, i can only find one nozzle coming out at the bottom of the right of the carb, is that where I put the charcoal?

and no idea where the dizzy vac tube goes aswell..

in the diagram theres four... you wouldnt happen to have photos of your setup would you?

thanks heaps for responding ill have another look tomorrow, going to pick up a torque wrench am super excited!

will put up photos of the head in progress, never seen a head so clean! have to enjoy it before the new oil goes in., might paint the rocker cover if i get time.

i need desperate help with this on my 4k engine. I need only for my vacuum advance to work; and just about everything in the car has been ripped out, plugged, or is missing...

what's absolutely necessary to plug and run?

any help will be greatly appreciated, my car won't run right under 2750 rpm...

Nothng to do with the vac advance, there is something faulty in there. . Maybe an air leak in the inlet system that is leaning it out.

What happens if you wind the idle speed up??

Does altering the mixture screw have any effect at all??

If I were you I'd make sure the points & timing are correct, then strip the carb and clean out the idle system. Check the idle jet and push petrol through the drillings with a syringe.

When you are convinced the dizzy and carb are working correctly, then chase an air leak in the manifold, making sure all holes for vac hoses are blocked (incl charcoal adn vac advance) and listen under the inlet manifold with a plastic hose in your ear.
