Being a carbied car, I would have thought that it wouldn't have had a factory O2 sensor (although I think some American spec carby cars do have them under the draconian Californian emissions spec). Are you looking at fitting an aftermarket O2 sensor for a AFR gauge?

I'm in cali and i need to install the o2 sensor for smog i know its hooked to ecu but i can't find the ecu

So, are you converting from the USA's carbs to Japanese fuel injection shooter? Did you get all the bits you needed?

That's the bit that worries me!

Its basicaly us but the old owner cut almost all the wiring

So its still on carbs, not fuel injection?

 

What did the O2 sensor do with carbs? I haven't come across an ECU with carbs but I suppose some of the realy tricky emission valves could be computer controlled.

Well, it has an 'emissions ECU' that needs the O2 sensor.

 

It is for various emissions controls on the engine, however it does not control the fueling of the engine, so it's not an EFI setup, and while it is an ECU, it is not an engine ECU, it's an emissions control ECU.

but its a 2 connection my o2 sensor is only 1 wire

also i found the emission box on the kick panel but need to wire up but the diagram i found its a 2 wire

If any one has a picture of there o2 sensor on the car that is plug in maybe i can trace the old wire prob is there is no plug for my o2 I'm thinking old owner just yank the wire coz original plug was left on o2 sensor and have no idea what color the wire would be
