kickn5k Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hhmm is a 5k worth it? Hells YEAH! My first 5k setup with twin 1.5inch su's, fairly small crow cam + springs, decked head for 10.2:1 comp and extractors made just over 50rwkw @ 5500rpm but dyno was harsh and that old I didn't get a torque figure. Second setup stock 5k bottom end(same as before), 4k big chamber head(no porting), Clive cams blower grind solid cam, sc12 supercharger, same as previous extractors, 7k efi manifold with microwreck d5 ecu and top mount intercooler made 100.5rwkw @ 5800rpm and peak torque @ 4000rpm. Roll on performance from any speed(under limit) is amazing. And turns 5th into a drive gear!!! Third setup is about to start costruction. Including a full forged 5k and a rollerbearing turbo. Keep power levels posted when finnished. But it's costing sssoooo much coin it might take a while.(who said we only play with rollas cause they are cheap)lol. All this from a little lightweight ke11=serious fun. So yes 5k's have a massive amount of power potential for what they are"a 1960's designed pushroded non crossflow 1500" stu. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I can't wait to pick mine up tomorrow and get stuck into it. Just gotta decide how hard I want to go on it. Quote
