Help! 4Age Sump Removal

Featured Replies

Hi,

The bigport 4age i have in my ke70 is leaking like a sieve from the sump where it attaches to the block.

Do i have to lift the whole engine up or am I able to remove sump than reseal with engine still attached to car? or will crossmember get in the way?

Thankyou for your help.

if you undo the engine mounts and lift the engine up on an angle it would make it easier it get it past the oil pick up and cross member.

i would recommend using genuine toyota FIPG (form in place gasket) as this is what we use at work during all engine repairs.

its in a blue tube, can buy it over the counter at any toyota dealer. just make sure both surfaces are completely clean and oil free.

hope this helps

chris
