What's the one on the coil do?

I just changed to a elec 5kc dizzy n couldn't work out what it was there for?

I thought there was only one on the coil? So are you saying the condenser has to stay on the coil even with an electronic distributor?

Doesn't HAVE to, but it helps get a good tacho signal
