Hey Hey,

I need new gauges for my Pajero. Ive got HKS gauges but they are not accurate. What brand are people using and have you found them to be accurate and durable ?

I need gauges that will take vibrations, water, mud, heat and be accurate. Oil pressure, water temp and a shift light.

Suggestions ?

how do you know they arent accurate?

forget all the gay jap brands

VDO is the only way.

I don't see any defi guages on $200k+ yacht. but i will probably see a row of VDO's.

and they look cool and old school too.

edit: in my oppionion you only really need an oil pressure light, not a guage.

Gauge says 70c when the thermostat is open. 85c thermostat.

VDO is good but i don't have a big budget for gauges. I looked on ebay for VDO gauges but didn't find much that wasn't vehicle specific.

where is your guage sender though? is it right next to the thermostat?

VDO is one of the cheapest around i thought. and its all aftermarket, not vehicle specific.

oil pressure you are going to need the guage and the sender to suit the guage. that will probably cost you 100bucks, but thats pretty good i think.

any pressure sender is going to be expensive, fairly complex thing to get accurate.

edit: looks like the VDO oil pressure sender also incorperates the oil pressure light output as well.

just hook that outpout up to a chunky bulb of some sort in your dash and your set.

VDO seem to make gauges for merces and BMW's. Oil pressure is less needed. More so water temp.

gauge sender is in the inlet manifold near the thermostat.

the temp sender should be on the "inner loop" of the cooling system, so its the water flowing around the engine with the thermostat closed.

VDO make all aftermarket guages as well.

unfortunately their online catalogue is crap...but if you turn up to repco they have a catalogue behind the desk.

something like this is what you need.

with the appropriate sender.

i had one of those in my ke70 for years, was great.

here is a bit more an idea on their range.

I've seen VDO's going cheap compare to all this digital rubish that flooded ebay..

Is they anyway of buying direct from VDO? cause you know repco is going to put a good healthy bit of profit on top..
