what type of distributer plug has it got?

round 3 pin is bigport, square 4 pin is smallport.

they are interchangeable in the head, but not in the electricial system.

looks like you have a bit of a bitsa engine there, so you had better do some more research to make sure that the loom and ecu you buy is the correct one.

it has a 3 pin round plug on the distributer, has a map censer, the manifold has been choped and changed to sute rwd car all i have are the stock ecus so the pin out can tell me somthink? and some have pointed out that its a bigport, as the manifold looked to be, the tappet covers look to be big port to. sorry I'm vaine about this set up as i relly don't know much about them I'm trying to do as much reading as i can about it all but still abit lost. wood the number off the block be usefull for anyone to tell whot model 4age it is or not relly.

The fact that it's a chopped bigport intake manifold would scream to me that it is still a bigport, just with the opening on the plenum for the throttle body moved to the other end. It is harder to make a bigport manifold fit a smallport head than it is to adapt a plenum for RWD, so there's a pretty good chance that the plenum/manifold matches the head, in this case means it is a bigport.

yeah sounds like a bigport to me...

the smallport also has an external oil drain out the back of the head.

I'm not sure how to tell what ECU you have though, check the ECU pinouts for each one on club4ag.com (reference section) and i belive there may be some color coding with the stickers on the ECU as well...but not sure...been a long while since ive read it.
